Floyd’s Bio

Music has always been an integral part of Floyd’s life, starting with the 45 and 78 rpm records he found at his Grandmother’s home in Arizona. His parents gave him his first guitar when he was 12 years old and he’s pretty much had one in his hands since then, whether playing, building or repairing them. He does it all.

Floyd’s musical influences range from honky-tonk country to metal, with a whole lotta’ blues in between. Give him ZZ Top, Hank Williams and Black Sabbath; they all make for a mighty tasty sonic stew!

When Floyd performs with The Jon Dansie Band, he uses Duesenberg and Fender bass guitars. He powers them with SWR bass amplifiers and cabinets. He also uses tools by Korg, Boss, Furman, Sennheiser, Harley Davidson and Nay guitar straps.

Floyd would like to generously thank Mike Taylor and theacousticmusician.com for all of their support. Floyd would also like to thank everyone’s influence, both good and bad, for the choices that have allowed him to reach this point in his life. And one more thing - a very special thanks to his family and friends that support him in this endeavor today.

A personal note from Floyd;
